Harken offers two sizes of 2-speed, pedestal-driven rotary pumps designed for Grand Prix race boats ranging from 13.7 to 30.5 m (45 to 100'). These pumps deliver oil faster and more efficiently than other pumps of comparable sizes, achieving higher shift points. The design allows for both automatic and manual shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, with automatic shift points determined by the maximum output of the grinders.
Manual Shift: If fewer crew members are grinding and insufficient power is generated to reach the automatic shift point, the pumps can be shifted manually. The 20 cc pump is shifted by simply reversing the pedestal handles, while the 10 cc pump uses a pull-cord attached to a lever.
Corrosion Resistance: The pumps are constructed from corrosion-resistant Hard Lube-anodized aluminum, incorporating aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel components for durability.
Non-Return Valve: Both pump sizes include a non-return valve on the outlet to prevent backflow of hydraulic fluid.
Mounting and Compatibility
Shaft Compatibility: Shafts attach the pumps directly to the pedestal and are compatible with Harken’s MX system. The through-shaft coupling allows the pump to be driven from either side and can be mounted remotely using a T-box or X-box.
Piston Design: Six double-stepped pistons are utilized to save weight and feature connecting rods for piston return.
Quick Mount: Three fasteners provide quick connect/disconnect mounting capabilities for easy installation and removal.
Maximum Pressure: The pumps operate at a maximum pressure of 7,500 psi (517 bar).
