Even though the TEMO·450 is waterproof (IP67), it will sink immediately if it slips into the water. The TEMO·450 Flotation Kit is designed to bring the motor back to the surface so you can recover it quickly, giving you extra peace of mind during installation and day to day handling.
In real use: if the motor drops from the stern area, it won’t submerge and will stay on the surface. If it falls from a slightly higher point (about 1.5 to 2 meters, like from a sailboat deck), it may sink for 1 to 2 seconds, then rises vertically, with the handle coming up first.
