The Simrad LF3000 is a waterproof feedback unit designed for demanding marine applications. It features a 300 mm (11.8-inch) stroke and mounts via a special bracket to the cylinder of the existing outboard drive unit.
The system includes an 8.5-meter (28-foot) cable connected according to the standard wiring diagram.
This cable is terminated in the LFI3000 Mk 2 Linear Feedback Interface. The LFI3000 Mk 2 is an interface unit specifically for the LF3000 linear feedback. Its primary function is to convert the analog signal from the LF3000 sensor into a standard digital feedback signal. This conversion is crucial for communication with the autopilot steering computer. By transforming the analog signal into a digital format, data integrity is enhanced.
