These original VETUS DC bow and stern thrusters form the basis of a wide range of VETUS electric thrusters, such as standard DC bow thrusters, extended run-time bow thrusters and ignition-protected bow thrusters.

Developed and perfected over 40 years of hard work, they are installed on boats all over the world and operate under all possible conditions.

The advantages of VETUS bow thrusters are endless; however, below we highlight the most important features:

• Minimum noise thanks to the unique six-blade propeller design, spiral gears and flexible coupling.
• High-quality aluminium control panels, interchangeable with older panels.
• Optimal flow thanks to the streamlined tailpiece.
• Integrated thermal switch to prevent overheating.
• Synthetic propellers that eliminate corrosion and reduce weight.
• High-performance, efficient and reliable DC electric motor with carbon brushes and series winding.

The standard VETUS DC bow thruster range consists of fourteen thrusters for boats from 15 to 90 feet and has become a proven concept and an affordable solution in the bow thruster market.

• On/off control, port-starboard.
• Lower cost, simpler installation and easy upgrading.
• Range of fourteen bow thrusters with thrust ratings from 25 kgf to 285 kgf.
• Battery powered at 12 V DC.
• Run time of 2 to 4 minutes, continuous or combined, within one hour.
• Motor technology: direct current, series-wound with carbon brushes.
