The Simrad XSONIC AIRMAR SS164 is a versatile 1 kW transducer made of stainless steel, designed for through-hull installation with a 12° tilt. This dual-frequency sensor combines depth and temperature measurement in a single compact device, optimized for fast, tournament, or sportfishing vessels that cannot install transducers with a fairing.
The ceramic element is tilted to compensate for hull deadrise, providing excellent echo returns and more accurate depth readings. It is ideal for deep-water fishing, allowing you to detect bottom and structure at depths up to 500 meters (1640 feet). Operating at 50 kHz and 200 kHz, it offers superior target detail in shallow water and excellent bottom tracking in deep water. The low-profile design minimizes hydrodynamic drag, with only 6.35 mm extending outside the hull, making it perfect for trailered boats. The 12° tilt angle is specifically designed for hulls with a deadrise between 8° and 15°. Furthermore, the transducer provides extremely accurate data even at navigation speeds of up to 30 knots. The installation is straightforward and does not require complex structural modifications to the hull.
