Raymarine ACU-100 actuator unit for type 0.5 reversible hydraulic units, wheel drive and tiller. Nominal power supply 12V, features rudder reference sensor, motor unit, ground.
Operating manual: ESP
Raymarine presents the ACU-100 control unit for Raymarine's new Evolution autopilot series.
The actuator is designed for type 0.5 reversible hydraulic units, wheel drive and tiller. It features a rudder reference sensor, motor unit and ground. The connector panel is sealed to IPX2 rating and the unit electronics to IPX6.
Computerised data management
Raymarine autopilots come equipped with a high-sensitivity EV-1 sensor, capable of detecting heading variations caused by waves or wind gusts in combination with heel. This extreme sensitivity combines with the computerised data management of the Control Unit (ACU), which allows the autopilot to act on the rudder with different speed and angle depending on the type of boat, the amplitude of the variations experienced and the speed.
The auto-setup functions and SeaTalk connection make the complete installation of Evolution autopilots very simple; you only need to select the type of boat (large powerboat, small powerboat, sailboat), the type of steering, whether mechanical, hydraulic or outboard, and finally the level of accuracy (high, standard or simple). Once all these parameters have been determined, the Evolution algorithms allow them to adapt automatically to the boat and to the sea and wind conditions encountered, making calibration unnecessary.
Technical specifications of the ACU-100
The Control Unit (ACU) connects via SeaTalk to the sensors, and from this same unit the power supply and the signals to the hydraulic or mechanical drive units are output.
The robust ACU delivers reliable autopilot drive power. It has a nominal power supply of 12V and an operating voltage of 10.8V to 15.6 VDC. As for its consumption, on direct supply it is 300 mA (12V).
The ACU-100 features a SeaTalk NG data connection in addition to the rudder reference sensor, sleep, motor unit and ground connections. The maximum continuous actuator output is 15A at supply voltage.
