Wireless remote control for Raymarine Evolution series autopilots, with colour display, Point-and-Go function, Solo Sailor mode and portable operation from any point on board. Requires WG-1 gateway.
The Raymarine RCU-1 is a wireless remote control designed to operate Raymarine Evolution series autopilots with greater freedom, comfort and safety on board. It is the system's handheld controller, intended to let the user operate the autopilot without having to stay next to the fixed control unit. It is an especially practical solution during manoeuvres, single-handed sailing, fishing tasks or moving around the deck, as it allows control to be maintained from virtually any point on board.
Its ergonomic design, combined with a bright colour display that is visible in full sunlight, makes for clear reading of information and intuitive one-handed operation. Among its most notable functions is Point-and-Go, which allows a new heading to be set simply by pointing the remote in the desired direction, achieving more natural and agile control in real sailing situations.
It also features Solo Sailor mode, a function aimed at reinforcing safety when sailing single-handed, and allows real-time navigation data to be viewed on a portable display, such as heading, speed, depth, wind or waypoints, depending on the on-board system configuration. This gives the user a more convenient and direct way to monitor and control the autopilot during day-to-day sailing.
It is designed for the marine environment, with IP67 waterproof construction, resistance for use both on deck and below deck, and power supply via two long-life AA batteries. As this is the reference for the standalone remote, this reference is intended for installations with Raymarine Evolution series autopilots and requires the WG-1 wireless gateway to complete the system.
