The i70s Smart Wind instrumentation kit brings together the main elements needed to monitor sailing conditions on a vessel. It combines an i70s multifunction display, a high-performance RSW Smart Wind sensor and a DST820 smart transducer, providing information on wind, depth, speed through water and temperature.
The i70s display features a 4.1-inch color TFT LCD screen with a customizable interface that allows data to be viewed through digital, analog and graphical representations. Its high brightness and wide viewing angles make the information easy to read under different lighting conditions, while its integrated keypad facilitates instrument operation while underway.
The RSW Smart Wind sensor incorporates wind measurement and compensation technology that accounts for vessel motion and mast deflection. Using three-dimensional motion sensors and specific algorithms, it provides more accurate wind data, compensating for factors such as pitch, roll and mast flex. Its design is specifically oriented toward the needs of sailing.
For its part, the DST820 through-hull transducer integrates depth, speed through water and temperature measurement in a single device. It also incorporates attitude sensors that provide heel and trim information. Its Gen2 paddlewheel provides speed measurements from less than 0.3 knots and supports advanced calibration functions via Bluetooth and the Airmar CAST app, including adjustments to compensate for the effects of heel on the speed reading.
The integration of the various elements is carried out via a SeaTalkNG network, compatible with the interconnection of NMEA 2000 equipment. The kit includes connectors, backbone cable, power, network terminators and a DeviceNet to SeaTalkNG adapter for connecting the DST820 transducer.
This configuration allows instrumentation data to be centralised on the i70s display and shared with other compatible navigation systems, such as Raymarine Axiom multifunction displays, making it easier to monitor navigation conditions from different points on board.
