ACU-400 actuator unit for Evolution autopilots. Compatible with Raymarine type 2 and 3 hydraulic drive units, linear and rotary mechanical drives. With SeaTalk ng connection and connections for rudder reference sensor, rudder, sleep, power, motor drive unit, digital input and output? It is integrated into the EV-400 Sail and EV-400 power autopilot packs.
Operating manual: ESP
Raymarine presents the ACU-400 control unit for Raymarine's new Evolution autopilot series. Compatible with Raymarine type 2 and 3 hydraulic drive units as well as linear and rotary mechanical drives. Includes connections for rudder reference sensor, rudder, sleep, power, motor drive unit, drive unit clutch, ground, digital input and output in addition to SeaTalk ng data connection.
The actuator is integrated into the EV-400 Sail and EV-400 Power packs.
No calibration required
Raymarine autopilots come equipped with a highly sensitive EV-1 sensor, capable of detecting heading variations caused by waves or wind gusts in combination with heel. This extreme sensitivity combines with the computerised management of data from the Control Unit (ACU), which is what allows the autopilot to act on the rudder with different speed and angle depending on the type of boat, the magnitude of the variations experienced and the speed.
The auto-setup functions and the SeaTalk connection make the complete installation of Evolution autopilots very simple; you only need to select the type of boat (large powerboat, small powerboat, sailboat), the type of steering (mechanical, hydraulic or outboard), and finally the level of precision (high, standard or simple). Once all these parameters have been determined, the Evolution algorithms allow it to adapt automatically to the boat and to the sea and wind conditions encountered, so that calibration is not necessary.
Technical specifications of the ACU-400
The Control Unit (ACU) connects via SeaTalk to the sensors, and from this same unit come the power supply and the signals to the hydraulic or mechanical drive units.
The robust ACU delivers reliable autopilot drive power. It features a nominal supply of 12V or 24V and an operating voltage of 1.8V to 31.2 VDC. Regarding its consumption, on direct supply it is 300 mA (12/24 V) and on SeaTalk ng supply, 20 mA (12V).
The ACU-400 features a SeaTalk NG data connection in addition to the rudder reference sensor, sleep, power, drive unit, drive lever and ground connections. It also has a digital input and output (DIO). The maximum current at the actuator output is 30A. Maximum clutch output current is 4A at both 12V and 24V.
