A carbon monoxide detector detects the deadly gas and sounds a loud alarm.

Carbon monoxide gas results from incomplete combustion of carbon-containing substances such as gas, oil, wood, etc. The colorless, tasteless and odorless gas is absorbed into the blood very quickly, causing oxygen deprivation in vital organs such as the heart, liver, and brain. The initial physical symptoms of CO poisoning resemble those of the flu: headache, vomiting and fatigue.
