ChartWorld eSync is a device designed to work with ECDIS systems, which are electronic navigation displays used on vessels to show digital nautical charts. In short, ECDIS replaces paper charts: it combines the vessel's position with information from sensors such as GPS, radar or AIS, and generates a real-time navigation picture. This type of system is mandatory on many commercial vessels to ensure safety at sea.
The eSync acts as a bridge between the cloud and the ECDIS, replacing the old DVD or USB update methods with an automatic, secure gateway that downloads and sends the information directly to the vessel's navigation system.
