The Evolution EV-400 Power wheel autopilot pack is designed for large vessels. It includes the EV-400 wheel pilot with EV-1 core, ACU-400 autopilot control unit, the p70Rs control head and the Evolution wiring kit.

Raymarine Evolution is a new generation of adaptive autopilots. This technology is the culmination of Raymarine's autopilot expertise, FLIR Systems R&D and the application of the most advanced aerospace guidance technology with new AI control algorithms, all of which delivers a new level of precision autopilot control.

Evolution pilots steer the boat so rigorously that not only do they reach the destination faster, they also help save fuel.

No calibration required!

This autopilot delivers superior performance compared with any other autopilot available on the market. It requires no calibration process and no adjustment to the vessel on which it is installed. This innovative breakthrough uses Evolution AI control, algorithms that allow these autopilots to perceive their environment and instantly calculate steering commands.

It provides precise monitoring of heel, yaw and heading. The result is precise, reliable vessel control that allows the pilot to adapt instantly to boat speed or sea conditions.

EV sensor: superior technology

The heart of the Evolution system is the EV sensor, which incorporates a 9-axis electronic compass and integrated heading computer.

The EV sensor is able to detect heading variations caused by waves or wind gusts in combination with heel. This improved sensitivity, combined with computerised data management via the P70s control head, allows the sensor to act on the rudder according to the type of boat, boat speed or sea conditions?

Another advantage of the EV sensor is the auto-compensation of magnetic fields. The accuracy of the new sensor, below 2° in any condition, is one more point for the safety of systems such as MARPA or AIS.

This pack is marketed with the EV-1 sensor for Raymarine drive systems, it connects via SeaTalk to the Control Unit (ACU) from which the power supply and the signals to the hydraulic or mechanical drive units come out.

Easy to install

Installing the autopilot is very simple and quick, only 30 seconds are needed thanks to the auto-setup installation. Select the boat type, steering type (mechanical, hydraulic or outboard) and the accuracy level (high, standard or simple). Once these parameters are defined, the Evolution algorithms are what will allow the autopilot to adapt to the boat and to the weather and sea conditions at any given moment.

They offer great freedom of installation compared to the restrictions of conventional heading sensors, the EV sensor can be installed above or below deck, upside down or away from the centerline of the boat. It also has Plug and Play connections.

Autopilot control unit: ACU-400

The robust ACU-400 offers reliable autopilot drive power and also supplies power to the SeaTalk ng bus. It supports Raymarine type 2 and 3 hydraulic units, linear and rotary mechanical drives.

This pack includes p70s control units that allow you to control the autopilot. It features full-color displays and works thanks to Raymarine's LightHouse user interface, which makes it a very simple and quick device to use.

The viewing angle is 160º, it features an anti-reflective coating to improve visibility in full sun, button or rotary control for sail and power applications, support for multiple data sources and SeaTalk ng, Nmea 2000 and SeaTalk connectivity.

The Evolution series is also compatible with the p70s control unit.
