Fault-free, NMEA 2000® backbone connections.
The QNB-1 provides alternatives to multiple connectors, reducing the cost of an NMEA 2000 cable installation.
Perfectly suited to areas of high instrument density, as six drops can be connected.
It is fitted with glands to allow for installation of custom lengths of cable. This is a great option for ‘mix & matching’ standard NMEA 2000 devices with Raymarine STNG devices.
The LEDs provide information for the installer during set up and to indicate the presence of data, power status, power reversal and to show whether the fuses are intact.
• High quality NMEA 2000 barrier strip connections
• Diagnostic LEDs
• Uses standard ATO fuses
• One unit provides six NMEA 2000 drops
• Power feed is split to enable longer networks
• Separate fusing for split power feed provides an easy way to isolate network segments
• Simple installation on Mini and Micro networks using bulk cable
• Easy to mix & match NMEA 2000 with Raymarine STNG on opposite sides
For smaller networks, or networks where there are a number of devices in close proximity to one another, the QNB is a perfect solution.
The product can be used to power your NMEA 2000 backbone, and all connected devices thanks to the power connection available. The QNB will power the left and right sides of the backbone independently, with a clearly visible fuse for each side. Powering each side independently means less voltage drops as each side is receiving 9-16VDC, rather than powering a backbone from one end. This is much like using an MPT-2 power insertion Tee.
This also means that if the fuse blows on one side of the backbone, you will only lose half, rather than your whole network, providing an extra layer of redundancy.
With 6 available drop connections off of the QNB all with pre-wired M12 connectors (if QNB-PMW is used), it is a true plug and play device with minimal wiring required. However, for custom installations where bulk reel is being used, the standard QNB Variant with open glands allows for cable to be stripped and wired in.
The two glands at the top are for your backbone to be run through. With the same terminal strip connections available at the top, it means that any NMEA 2000 cable can be stripped and connected up. The benefit of this is that cables such as Raymarine STNG can be stripped and wired in as well, enabling hybrid networks to be created without the requirement for adapter cables.
The QNB-1 also sports multiple LED’s for a quick visual indication of various things. There are LED’s for Power supply and polarity, Fuses and detection of data. Having visual indicators makes life much easier for an installer or technician when they are called out for faults, saving them time which saves the user money.
